The Xfinity Mobile Arena was absolutely rocking for the Flyers’ first home playoff game in 8 years. Philly hasn’t hosted playoff hockey since 2018 (also against the Penguins, ironically), and the city has been starving for it. The Flyers clinched their first postseason berth since 2020 with a shootout win over the Hurricanes on April 13, sparking electric crowds even in the final regular-season games.

The were up 2-0 in the series before it began before a gut wrenching, masterful performance in a must-win at home. Fans were fired up for the “Ignite the Orange” vibe—orange outs, rally towels, block parties outside the arena, and Gritty probably causing chaos. Players like Trevor Zegras and Sean Couturier have already called the recent home atmosphere playoff-level intense, and they keep saying the real thing will be next-level.

This rivalry (Battle of Pennsylvania) always turns the building into a madhouse, and after years of irrelevance, the crowd was deafening from warm-ups. Philly sports fans don’t do “polite”—they’re loud, passionate, and ready to get under Pittsburgh’s skin.
“It was amazing,” said Nick Seeler after the game. “They were amazing. That was the craziest building I’ve ever played in. They brought it.”
