Here’s the latest Training Camp update from Flyers’ General Manager Danny Briere (as of his Sept. 15, 2026, pre-training camp media availability).

Nikita Grebenkin
Grebenkin (upper-body injury) had a “little flare-up” last week and may miss the start of camp (which is set to open on the ice Thursday). Briere indicated it shouldn’t keep him out much longer than that. Everyone else on the roster is healthy heading into camp.
Quick background on Grebenkin’s injury
- He suffered the upper-body issue in late March 2026, originally expected to be short-term (7–10 days).
- It lingered, causing him to miss the final stretch of the regular season (last played March 21) plus the entire playoff run.
- He recovered over the summer (no surgery needed), skated in light drills by late June, signed a two-year extension in early August, and was expected to be ready for camp—until this recent setback.

Grebenkin’s competing for a bottom-six/checking-line role after putting up four goals and 14 points in 55 games last season. The flare-up means he’ll likely have to play catch-up a bit once he’s back on the ice.
