Flyers main Training Camp starts bright and early Thursday morning September 17th. The Flyers prospects started off the budding phase of the NHL Flyers 2026-27 season holding camp this week.
The Flyers rookie squad did a bang up job shutting down the New York Rangers rookies in both games of the annual series in Allentown over the weekend. They won game 1 on Saturday 3-2 and then dominated on Sunday winning 4-1. This Flyers pipeline has a ton of energy and enthusiasm and it’s been a blast watching them since Development Camp.
Between the Pipes
Carson Bjarnason got the start in the rookie series opener on Saturday. Bjarnason played a solid game to pick up the victory. He’s looking to have a bounce back year after having a bit of a rocky start in his first season with the Phantoms. Saturday was a good step in the right direction.
Marek Skelinka and Martin Psohlavec shared duties on Sunday holding the Rangers Rookies to just one goal.
Some of the players at Rookie Camp this time around have already proven themselves at the NHL level. But as forward Denver Barkey put it “you’ve got to earn it.” Barkey scored the first goal in Sundays game as he wore the captain’s “C” on his jersey and represented his team well.
Standouts
Porter Martone who handled his call up to the big club like a seasoned pro was at camp all week. As was Jett Luchanko who centered the top line in both games over the weekend. Jett is bouncing back from a procedure that seems to have brought him back to his former self. He’s flying on his skates. His decision making and pin point passing could be a huge asset to the Flyers if things pan out. Alex Bump and Oliver Bonk are both total standouts at camp. No surprise there.
Flyers 2026 1st round NHL draft pick Maksim Sololovskii has definitely made his presence known. The 6′-8″, 240 lbs 18 year old is proving to be so hard to play against. His long reach and gigantic strides are matched by his patience with the puck and good decision making.
Breck Liske chosen 53rd overall by the Flyers in 2026 scored the game-winning-goal on Sunday evening. He brings a lot of energy and loves putting the puck on net.
Ty Murchison, Cole Knuble, and Matthew Gard have all been solid participants in this years Rookie Camp as you would expect from these fine young Flyers prospects. They play hard and it’s difficult to find weakspots in their game.
Noah Powell has drawn a ton of attention. He plays a really agitated high energy game and spent a lot of time over the weekend with his gloves off.
Flyers Training Camp
Flyers main camp opens up Thurday September 17th at the Fyers Training Center in Voorhees NJ at 8:15 AM. Things are officially headed toward opening night of the Flyers 2026-27 NHL season. All sessions at the Training Center are free and open to the public.

Making it to an NHL rookie camp is a gigantic achievement that required the comittment of not just the players but their families as well.
