Cam York is looking ahead to the 2026-27 season with the Philadelphia Flyers after a strong but ultimately ending 2025-26 campaign.

“I was telling Jonesy this actually is the most fun I’ve had since turning pro. Just such a fun group of guys to be around… to make the playoffs and kind of go on the run that we did. It was a special year and one that I won’t forget for a while,” Cam York said at exit interviews.
The Flyers defenseman, fresh off signing a five-year, $25.75 million extension (AAV $5.15M) in July 2025, had a solid year and became a postseason hero. York scored the overtime series-clinching goal in Game 6 against the Pittsburgh Penguins in the first round of the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs, sending the Flyers to the second round.
In exit interviews/breakup day comments following the season, York reflected on the year, his growth, and expressed excitement for the future under the current group and coaching staff. York’s been vocal about wanting to build on his two-way game, contribute more offensively, and take another step forward with a core that includes young talent.

York has embraced the city as home and is motivated for more success next season.
“We obviously got a really good taste of it… we know what we have in that room… the young guys that came in and played a huge role… I think we’re all super excited to get going again next year and just keep raising the bar,” York said of next season.
York also relished playing with one of his best friends, and they formed a good pairing for Flyers’ Head Coach Rick Tocchet, “Obviously playing with one of your best buddies… it’s pretty cool… we figured it out and played some big minutes against some top guys… proud of him and it was fun playing with him.”
