Dan Vladar is back in the Philadelphia area.
On August 29, 2026, local Flyers reporter Jamey Baskow noted that the goaltender “is back in Philly, and happy as heck.” This aligns with earlier reports that Vladar (and much of the team) would return to the area that week ahead of the 2026-27 season.

- Vladar signed with the Flyers as a free agent in July 2025 on a two-year deal and had a strong breakout 2025-26 season (career-high 29 wins, 52 GP, 2.42 GAA, .906 SV% in the regular season, plus solid playoff numbers that helped end Philadelphia’s playoff drought).
- In July 2026 the Flyers locked him in further with a five-year, $27.5 million extension ($5.5M AAV) that begins in 2027-28, keeping him under contract through 2031-32.
Flyers fans are glad to have their No. 1 netminder (sometimes nicknamed “Darth Vladar”) back in town as training camp approaches.
