The 2026 NHL Entry Draft is June 26-27 in Buffalo. The Flyers pick 21st overall in Round 1 (their lowest first-round spot in recent years) and hold the 53rd overall pick in Round 2. They have only four total picks after trades (including the 3rd-rounder sent to Toronto for Joseph Woll/Simon Benoit).

Current Flyers Draft Assets (2026)
- Round 1: Own (21st overall)
- Round 2: Own (53rd overall)
- Round 5: (136) From Florida
- Round 7: Own (213 Overall)
No 3rd, 4th, or 5th (due to prior trades). GM Daniel Briere and scouting staff (led by Brent Flahr) have signaled openness to trading up or down; the team often follows a best-player-available (BPA) approach in Round 1 rather than strict positional need.
21) Ryan Lin, RHD, Vancouver WHL
- Profile: 18-year-old (born April 18, 2008) Canadian defenseman from Richmond, BC. Plays for the Vancouver Giants (WHL). 5’11, while weighing 180 lbs, right-shot. Committed to University of Denver.
- 2025-26 season: 57 points (14G-43A) in 53 games played— nearly a point-per-game pace as a captain and leading scorer for his team. Strong power-play contributor. Missed time with injury but bounced back impressively. chl.ca
- Rankings: NHL Central Scouting #16 among North American skaters. Other rankings put him in the 15-18 range — solidly mid-to-late first round.
Strengths and Scouting Profile
Lin is an offensive/transitional Defenseman with excellent skating, agility, puck skills, and decision-making. He excels at breaking out of his zone, leading rushes, and creating offense (end-to-end plays, power-play quarterback potential). Scouts compare him to players like Brandon Montour for his profile, with some higher-end upside mentions (Cale Makar-like flashes in highlights, though size is a factor).
A young 18-year-old in Lin has been my pick at 21 for the Flyers all along, so I will stick with it. Lin will also take pressure off Oliver Bonk in becoming a Power Play Quarterback, which is Lin’s bread and butter.
Thomas Vandenberg, C, Ottawa OHL
Vandenberg (Often misspelled as “Vandebeeg”) is a 2026 NHL Draft-eligible center (born September 8, 2008) playing for the Ottawa 67’s (OHL). He is a right-shot left-shooting two-way forward from Nepean, Ontario, listed at 6’0 / 181 lbs. He is committed to Providence College for the 2027-28 season.
2025-26 Season Stats
- 59 GP: 25 G, 25 A, 50 PTS, +22, 20 PIM
- Playoffs: 9 GP, 4 G, 3 A, 7 PTS
- Additional context: Strong rookie campaign after time in the USHL (Cedar Rapids). Ranked 5th among OHL rookies in scoring. Played in the 2026 U18 WJC (1G in 5 GP for Canada) and the OHL Top Prospects Game. NHL Central Scouting: #35 NA skater.
Vandenberg has quick feet, strong acceleration, and good straight-line speed. The Flyers need speed and a prospect that can skate.

Tobias Tvrznik, G, Wenatchee WHL
Tvrznik is a 2026 NHL Draft-eligible goaltender (born July 29, 2007, Litomerice, Czechia). He is a right-catching hybrid goalie, listed at 6’4 / 183 lbs. Tvrznik played for the Wenatchee Wild (WHL) in 2025-26 as an import and is committed to Ohio State for the 2027-28 season.
2025-26 Season Stats
- 39 GP, 16 wins, 3.10 GAA, .913 SV% (3rd in WHL)
- Key highlights: 60-save performance in his WHL debut (franchise record tie), first WHL shutout (Feb. 6), Western Conference Second Team All-Star, Del Wilson Memorial Trophy finalist (WHL Goaltender of the Year). Faced high shot volume on a struggling team (11th in Western Conference). ncw.news
Tvrznik keeps his composure well, and he is an intelligent netminder. The Flyers could always draft a goalie
The Flyers trade their 7th Round Pick (213) to Montreal for their 7th Round Pick in 2027.
