Garnet Hathaway has been traded by the Flyers to the Florida Panthers, in exchange for a 5th round pick in 2026 and a fourth round pick in 2027. The Flyers are also sending a sixth round pick in 2026 to Florida.

- Hathaway previously signed a 2-year extension in July 2024, worth an annual $2.4M.
- There was some speculation around the 2026 trade deadline about him potentially being moved as a veteran depth/sandpaper forward for a contender, as Flyers’ General Manager gives another Veteran a shot at a Cup (Nic Deslauriers previously).
Hathaway participated in the team’s 2025-26 end-of-season activities (break-up day interviews in May 2026) as a Flyer.

Quick Contract/Trade History Reminder:
- Signed with Flyers as UFA in July 2023 (2 years).
- Extended in July 2024 (2 years, starting 2025-26).
- Only prior trade: Feb 2023 from Washington Capitals to Boston Bruins (3-team deal)
