The Flyers hold the 21st overall pick in the 2026 NHL Draft (which starts today, June 26). They’re taking a best-player-available approach and have not ruled out trading up, down, or standing pat.

Top Prospects the Flyers Are Reportedly Looking At

No one knows the exact pick until it’s announced, but here are the names that come up most frequently in recent scouting reports, mocks, and Flyers-focused analysis:

  • Maddox Dagenais (C/LW, Québec Remparts, QMJHL) — Big (6’4), physical power forward with a strong shot and net drive. A strong fit for the Flyers’ preference for size and toughness. Often mocked to them at 21, and could become a Center of the future for the orange and black.
  • Ilya Morozov (C, Miami (Ohio), NCAA) — Big Russian center (6’3) with good puck skills and strength. Frequently highlighted as a scheme fit for Philly, but I project him as a bottom 6 Center in the NHL.
  • Xavier Villeneuve (LD, Blainville-Boisbriand, QMJHL) — Undersized but dynamic, skilled defenseman. Some mocks like him as a high-upside swing.
  • Others in the conversation: Wyatt Cullen (rising winger), Oliver Suvanto (big center), JP Hurlbert, Juho Piiparinen, Tommy Bleyl, and maybe RHD Ryan Lin if he falls to 21. Lin would be a Power Play Quarterback of the future for the orange and black.

The Flyers have picks at 21, 53, 181, and 213 overall. They’ve emphasized traits like size, competitiveness, and skating in recent drafts.

Expect movement around the pick—Danny Briere has been active on the trade front too, so stay tuned and buckle up Flyers fans.
