The Flyers have been battling, and trying to overcome adversity with injuries for the past month and a half or so. Each time a player comes back from IR (Injured Reserve), another one seems to hit IR. Justin Braun, although he has not been formally placed on IR by the Flyers, will be out most likely until after the All-Star break. Braun is being sidelined with a groin injury, a guy that is an intrical part of the Penalty Killing Unit.

It’s a tall task for the orange and black to overcome this type of adversity, in a positive manner night in and night out. They are overcoming long-term injuries/diagnosis sustained to Nolan Patrick, Samuel Morin, and Oskar Lindblom. One can only imagine how tough it is to overcome these injuries throughout the course of the season.

However, the show still goes on. Tuesday night is a huge game against a divisional foe in the Carolina Hurricanes, and Wednesday night’s game is also a big one against the Washington Capitals. The Flyers have to keep their eye on the prize, and not let these injuries dictate their season. Is it easy to do, no, but injuries are no excuse for their recent poor play on the road.

The Flyers have to keep focused, and play with heart. They have hit a speed bump on the road here as of late, but it’s time to right the ship. Losing a steady defenceman like Braun is not easy. He plays exceptionally well on the PK, but the Flyers have overcome injuries all season, this time shall be no different.
