E208 – Flyers End Of The Season Prospect Updates (Ft. The Draft Analyst)
After a few unexpected losses and crucial overtime loss to the New York Islanders, the Flyers find themselves at a crossroads. With what used to be a sizable lead over their Metro division competition, now reduced to a single point with the other teams having games in hand, it’s up to the Flyers to finish the season as strong as they can if they want to stay in the playoffs. However, with the recent loss of the team captain, Sean Couturier, who is now out on a day-to-day status the team will have to rally around the leadership remaining leadership group to carry them to the next level. After a very insightful press conference with coach John Tortorella, the media was able to gleam a very important message the coach sent the fanbase. Tortorella feels personally responsible for not preparing his squad for the mental evolution it takes to make the playoffs and compete in it. This is why playoff experience is so important for a rebuilding squad looking to build their culture. They need to be able to reach inside deep and find more in their game, more in their beliefs, and understand what it takes to be a hero on the ice rink. Will Torts be able to right the ship and get his team into the playoffs for valuable experience or will they just fall short and have to start planning for a crucial 2024 NHL Entry Draft?
