“Batman” is widely known to be a protector of Gotham City. Well, on April 15, 2019, Alain Vigneault became the “Batman” of the Flyers. The franchise turned to an experienced mind to right the ship that was starting to sail after Dave Hakstol struggled to navigate the stormy seas.

Vigneault inherited a team that has been down right inconsistent for the past few seasons. A team that has been bottom feeders with their special teams, and a team that need a voice in the locker room. Well, after the first 11 games (5-5-1) the special teams has improved with 10th best Power Play Unit (23.9%), and the 6th best Penalty Killing Unit (82.9%). Moreover, Kevin Hayes has stepped up as a vocal leader in the locker room, as well as, Travis Konecny. Has everything been perfect through the first 11 games? No, but that does not mean fans have turned on Vigneault. This tweet below had me scratching my head last night, even after, the Flyers got blown out 7-1 to the Pittsburgh Penguins:

This is just down right FALSEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Who is this guy? That was the first question that came to my mind. Flyers fans are passionate, and they expect full effort out of players and coaches alike. This gentleman (@NMercad) will not rip Flyers fans for something that is false, that just won’t happen.

Flyers fans have embraced Vigneault, and have been quite patient with this new coaching regime. They have ripped some players this season, but not the coaching staff. Flyers fans know that there is a new system to learn, and the team has endured crazy travel throughout the month of October. They will continue to be patient with Vigneault, as there will be results in the future. The fans have seen glimpses of the team that Vigneault expects them to be on a nightly basis. Nick you should be better than this.

There was one positive last night, Oskar Lindblom’s 6th goal of the season:
