Alex Bump was loaned to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms on today.
This move frees up a roster spot for veteran forward Michael Bunting, who signed with the Flyers the previous day. Bump had no points in 3 NHL games this season (averaging about 12:08 TOI/GP) and was a healthy scratch on Monday.
Quick background on Bump:
- Drafted by the Flyers in the 5th round (133rd overall) of the 2022 NHL Draft.
- Starred at Western Michigan University (helped them win the 2025 NCAA title; NCHC Forward of the Year, etc.).
- Signed his ELC in April 2025 and has split time between the Phantoms and Flyers.
- In 2025-26 with Lehigh Valley: 11 goals, 15 assists in 36 games before his earlier call-up.
- Made his NHL debut in March 2026 and recorded 5 goals and 4 assists in 17 games that season (plus playoff time).
This is a standard roster transaction as the Flyers adjust their lineup at the start of the 2026-27 season.
