This fits with what Konecny (and others like Trevor Zegras) have said before—stuff like Tippett’s combination of skill, speed, and shot being “scary” or “like nothing they’ve seen.” Tippett has those explosive tools (straight-line speed, heavy shot, size to play physical), and when he trusts them and starts making those momentum-shifting plays—like his shorthanded blasts or game-tying goals—it’s a game-changer for the Flyers.
Konecny’s comments come amid the Flyers’ current playoff series push (they’re up 2-0 on the Pittsburgh Penguins as of today, with contributions flying around the lineup). Tippett brings that high-upside winger element that pairs nicely with Konecny’s own high-motor, all-situations game. Both are core pieces for Philly, and seeing the Captain publicly hype a teammate like this shows the chemistry and belief in the room.Tippett’s been streaky in the past but has shown he can take over shifts when he’s on.
