Travis Konecny returned to Flyers’ lineup on Sunday after missing 10 games with a lower-body injury.

Konecny was activated from injured reserve (along with Owen Tippett) ahead of the home game against the Utah Mammoth and recorded a goal and an assist in the Flyers’ 6-3 win. His goal (his first of the season) came early in the second period and put Philadelphia ahead 2-1; he also assisted on a Christian Dvorak goal. He added energy with four hits and physical play.

The injury occurred on October 8 against Ottawa (after a hit on Tim Stützle). He had three assists in five games before going on IR (placed around October 11, retroactive to the injury date). He practiced late in the week (including some non-contact work initially) before being cleared.

Konecny’s line with Christian Dvorak and Trevor Zegras produced well in the return game. The Flyers improved to 4-8-4 with the victory, snapping a three-game winless stretch. Tippett also returned after missing six games with an upper-body injury.

Flyers’ Head Coach Rick Tocchet sounded off on Konecny’s return to the lineup, “A lot of juice in the room. That line did a nice job.”
