Travis Konecny took to the media yesterday, following the season/home opening loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins. He looked a bit deflated, but very energetic when answering questions about Dan Vladar:
“Vladdy didn’t deserve to go through that tonight,” Konecny said in his post-game presser with the media. “There is no excuse, you have to be ready to play.”
Konecny addressed the media alongside Head Coach Rick Tocchet, as he expressed full confidence in Vladar. The Flyers overhauled their netminding unit in the offseason, moving on from Samuel Ersson to bring in Woll to partner with Vladař.
It was great to see Konecny shut down early skepticism, emphasizing the team’s trust in their netminders as they look to build on last year’s playoff run. Especially, after getting blasted 7-0 in your own barn.
