The Flyers finally signed a Center/Winger yesterday in Zachary Wertz. Wertz is from Egg Harbor Township, NJ, and he was the recipient of a liver transplant.
Wertz, 9, favorite player is Travis Konecny. The two met on the ice yesterday, and Konecny made him feel really special. Donning the sweater #22, Wertz was elated at the treatment he received from the Flyers. He practiced with the team yesterday, and had lunch with Konecny.

This day was put on hold through the Make-A-Wish foundation in 2020 due to COVID-19, so it’s nice to see the Flyers fulfill this for Wertz and his family.
On one special day Wertz wowed the Flyers, and I’m sure he left a good impression on them. This is a strong young man, in this day was well deserved for him and his family. For Konecny he is in All-Star, and in All-Star off the ice.
