Flyers’ Defenseman Rasmus Ristolainen was sidelined for roughly three weeks (about nine games) with a left hand/upper-body injury sustained in early October 2026. He returned, but now he will miss at least two weeks with an upper body injury, per the Flyers.

Ristolainen was hurt after taking a shot off the hand (reports vary slightly on the exact game, around Oct. 3 vs. Carolina or nearby), left a game, and was placed on injured reserve around Oct. 10. He missed the subsequent stretch of games.

On Oct. 24, 2026, the Flyers activated Ristolainen off IR (sending forward Garrett Wilson to AHL Lehigh Valley in a corresponding move). He was a game-time decision but returned that afternoon against the Anaheim Ducks, skating on the third defensive pair with Hunter McDonald.

Ristolainen had one goal in three games before the injury. As of the latest available reports (around Oct. 24), there is no indication of a new absence—he is back in the lineup after the roughly three-week absence. Note that injury timelines can shift, and Ristolainen has a history of missing time.
