Flyers lines and pairings for the 2026-27 season opener (Wednesday, September 30 vs. Pittsburgh Penguins at home, 7:30 p.m. ET on TNT).
Flyers’ Head Coach Coach Rick Tocchet said after a recent practice that the combinations the team ran were “pretty close” to what they’ll use opening night.
Forwards:
- Owen Tippett – Trevor Zegras – Porter Martone
- Tyson Foerster – Noah Cates – Matvei Michkov
- Alex Bump – Christian Dvorak – Travis Konecny
- Carl Grundstrom – Sean Couturier – Noel Acciari
(Garrett Wilson has rotated in for Grundstrom on the fourth line)
Defensive Pairings:
- Travis Sanheim – Rasmus Ristolainen
- Cam York – Jamie Drysdale
- Nick Seeler – Simon Benoit
(David Jiricek has rotated in on the third pair)
Notes:
- Denver Barkey is on injured reserve (lower-body) and will miss the opener (expected to be relatively short-term).
- The 23-man opening-night roster is set (14 forwards, 7 D, 2 goalies: Dan Vladar and Joseph Woll).
- Power Play looks from the same practices have featured units like Jamie Drysdale/Matvei Michkov/Trevor Zegras/Tyson Foerster/Porter Martone and Cam York/Travis Konecny/Owen Tippett/Noah Cates/Alex Bump.
These can still shift slightly before puck drop (or mid-game), but this is the clearest picture heading into the opener.
