Porter Martone, a 19-year-old rookie Right Winger, recently made NHL history as the youngest Flyers player ever to score a goal in his Post-Season Debut. He also became the third youngest playoff goal scorer in Flyers franchise history with a game-winning goal (GWG) in Pittsburgh.

This came in his first NHL playoff game, where he scored at a critical juncture of the game. Martone’s been a standout since signing his entry-level contract on March 29, 2026, and debuting shortly after—tallying strong production (e.g., 4 goals and 6 assists for 10 points in his first 9 regular-season NHL games) as a big, skilled 6’3, ~210 lb forward drafted 6th overall by the Flyers in 2025 out of the OHL (Brampton).
Other notable “youngest teenager” achievements tied to him:
- His first NHL goal was an overtime game-winner (a power-play tally vs. the Boston Bruins in early April 2026), making him the second-youngest player in NHL history to have his debut goal be an OT GWG. It was also the youngest Flyers OT goal ever at the time.
- He’s been highlighted as one of the few (or only) active NHL teenagers making big impacts, including playoff scoring as a teen.

Martone’s rapid rise has Flyers fans excited—he’s described as fearless, dominant, and a key part of their late-season push. In playoffs, his debut goal underscored his poise under pressure.
He’s a name to watch as the 2026 postseason continues.
