Nikita Grebenkin has yet to suit up for the 2026-27 season yet due to injury. He was hurt in the third pre-season game of the season against the Boston Bruins, and hasn’t returned to action since.
Today, Grebenkin was placed on IR (Injured Reserve). Following a two-year contract extension signed in August 2026 ($1.1 million AAV), Grebenkin was competing for a bottom-six physical/gritty role, bringing a hard-nosed, “sticky” forechecking presence along the boards.
Grebenkin was set to make a dangerous fourth line, that consisted of Sean Couturier and Noel Acciari. Hopefully, Grebenkin makes a full recovery soon.

Notes:
Dan Vladar will be tonight’s starting Goaltender for the Flyers, as they face a tough team in the Tampa Bay Lightning.
I’m hearing from a source close to the situation that Denver Barkey will also be taken off IR, and play tonight against Tampa.
