The 2021 NHL Season finally has started and has started with a bang. Our Philadelphia Flyers are 2-0 and looking to keep their winning ways going as they welcome in the Sabres on Monday and Tuesday. A key piece that is going to try to keep those wins piling up is nonother than highly skilled center/winger Morgan Frost. Frost is going to be called upon to step up in Couturier’s, who’s out for a reported at least two weeks, absence.

Morgan Frost is a highly-skilled winger who uses his flashy speed and silky smooth hands to make plays and score himself. Example A would be the awesome goal he scored coming along the goal-line in front to roof one on the backhand over former Flyers goalie Sergei Bobrovsky.

The skill showcased above is likely why coach Alain Vigneault is so comfortably throwing him right into Couturier’s line on the powerplay and five on five. Frost is going to be playing between Lindblom and Konecny. The combined skill and speed of this line has a real chance to be deadly. Alain Vigneault in his pressure on Sunday talked about Frost’s skill and of placing him between TK and Lindblom.

It is a huge compliment to Frost and his still maturing game, that AV is slotting him in right where Couturier was between Lindblom and Konecny. The tenacity on the forecheck of both TK’s and Lindblom’s game as well as their net-front presence will pair well with Frost’s elite offensive hands and instincts. Oh yea, TK and Lindblom also have elite skills in the offensive zone!!! You can see why this line has a chance to really become a killer young trio until Couturier comes back. Even when Couturier comes back there is a good chance Frost will not be the one coming back out of the lineup.

Morgan Frost impressed in camp earning himself a stay with the big club. He showed maturity in his game now being stronger on the puck after having an offseason to work on his craft. Frost also stressed in his interview on Sunday the importance of a 200-foot game. This is a key area Frost had to improve his game in and it sure as heck seems like he honed in one the defensive side of things while growing his game in camp and the offseason. As we know to be a steady player in Alain Vigneault’s system it is key to be solid in the defensive zone.

It is time to get Frosty again in Philadelphia folks and we should all be excited. It is highly unfortunate the way Frost will gain his playing time with an injury of star player Couturier. However, it is always good to look at things on the bright side and that is easy to do when that bright side is Morgan Frost. Frost seems stronger and more determined than ever to make an immediate impact and with all his offensive skill and a developing  big 200-foot game, there is no reason to think he cannot.

Prediction for ya, he is going to 100% force his way to staying in the lineup when Couturier comes back. This is, of course, going to give the Flyers a hard decision of who comes out, but again that is a great problem to have. Frost for many teams would already be starting and for the Flyers cause of their depth, he is the first man off the bench. Well, he is sure as hell a potential James Harden off the bench for all my also basketball fans out there. Frost is going to make his season debut tonight as the Flyers face off against the Sabres at the Wells Fargo Center at 7:30 PM. Another prediction for ya, Frost is going to have a big showing in his first night back flying around the ice and at least capture one point. It is time to get Frosty again in Philadelphia. Let’s Go Flyers and Let’s Go Frost. The Flyers will look to make it three straight tonight with Carter Hart in net. So all that is left to say is ARE YOU READY FOR SOME HOCKEY!!!
