Recent Flyers Move
Just last week (around June 16), the Flyers pulled off a goalie/defense swap with Toronto:
- Acquired: Joseph Woll (G) and Simon Benoit (D)
- Traded away: Samuel Ersson (G), Emil Andrae (D), and a 2026 3rd-round pick
It looks like a calculated move to upgrade the backup/goaltending depth and add some blue-line stability while giving Ersson a fresh start.
What’s Next?
June 23 has a long history of being an active trade day for Philly (e.g., the Trevor Zegras deal last year), so things could still pop later today or around the draft.
With the 2026 NHL Draft coming up (Flyers pick 21st overall), the rumor mill is active. There’s chatter about defensemen targets (like interest in players from Buffalo), potential trade-ups in the draft, and the usual offseason reshuffling.
