Travis Konecny is always vocal, chirping, and seems to just enjoy his time playing the game he loves most. Typically he’s always smiling and press conferences, and a ball of fun. That’s just who Konecny is. Following a season of disappointment Konecny knows he can be better:

“I wish I could tell you, I would have fixed it. I’m not too sure. I think this season was weird in general. And if you had any sort of issues in your game, it was hard to work on certain things and get back to where you need to be because there was no practice time to reset and maybe get your confidence back. But other than that, maybe I wasn’t shooting the puck as much as I was last year, trying to do too much. Maybe just get back to simplify my game. I’m gonna have some time to reflect on that and hopefully figure it out over the offseason.”– Travis Konecny said at exit interviews

Konecny is an electrifying player, and really playing at a high level with Claude Giroux and Sean Couturier. Alain Vigneault and the rest of the coaching staff trusts Konecny, whether it be late in the games, 3-on-3 overtimes, or in shootouts as the coaching staff continues to trust him in all situations. For his effort, he has tallied two goals and one assist in two games played, as it appears he has a shoot first mentality once again, “Just shooting the puck and if the shot wasn’t there, don’t force anything,” Konecny said on the top lines game. “Just wait for the next linemate to come in and help you. It really helps when you’re playing as a five-man unit out there and everyone is working together.”

The young rising star in Konecny does a little bit of everything. He will chip in on the power play, lay a big hit, block shots, and most of all do anything to help the team win. He had a bit of a down year last year to say the least, but fortunately Konecny played much better in the latter parts of the season, and maybe that correlated to having a good start this season, “You have to stay together and support each other and not get too far ahead,” Konecny said. “We talked, we supported each other and it helped us stay within our system and structure, and we were able to keep pressing for the majority of the game.”

Konecny is fresh off being a new dad, and this by far is one of the greatest achievements that he will achieve in his lifetime. He will fulfill his biggest duty and that is being a dad. Everything else will be second-third-and so on. Yes, his job with playing hockey is important, however, his fiancée and his child are far more important.

He has found a new attitude, and this should rub off well on his teammates off the ice. He will always be charismatic, but he looks to embark on a big rebound season in 2021-22. Whatever the case maybe, a new Konecny is here, so let’s give a bit of congratulations to Travis and his fiancée Karly Girard.

Konecny’s successes hasn’t been easy, but nothing is in life. He just stuck with it and it’s paying dividends in his game right now, the team is benefiting from the fruits of Konecny’s patience of sticking with it. One thing Konecny likes is the energy in the building:

“I was just saying to Seels on the way in that I’ve never heard the building that loud in a long time. I don’t expect anything less coming from our fans. The emotion of just being back in Philly and they love us getting into it with the other team. He did a great job, Thomer did a great job. You can hear that atmosphere in the rink and on the bench. It was an awesome night.” – Travis Konecny following the Seattle Kraken game
