The Flyers were flat-footed against the New York Islanders for a majority of the game until the third period. However, even with how lethargic the Flyers were playing they only found themselves trailing by one at the end of one, 1-0. Flyers’ Head Coach John Tortorella was very animated and mad at his club, as Egor Zamula arguably played one of his worst games of the season. He just found himself in the wrong positions at the wrong time.

At one point in the second period John Tortorella was again mad at his club after surrendering the second goal with the score 2-0 Islanders. One would think that the Flyers would mount a comeback trailing 2-0 in the second period, as Cam York got the Flyers on board with his third goal of the season to pull the Flyers within one at 2-1.

Unfortunately, the Islanders extended their lead in the third period to 3-1, but they were actually playing good hockey at that point. They were trying to call their way back in this game, and their effort paid off with a goal by Joel Farabee to pull the Flyers within one at 3-2. It was just one of those nights where they could not get the equalizer, but they did show fight and effort in the third period, but the Islanders hung on for the one goal victory.

There are new expectations with this team following their recent five game winning streak. Yes, it’s only November but people are starting to embrace and talk about Flyers hockey once again. That’s what winning does, winning inspires people to embrace an otherwise stale hockey club. The Flyers host the New York Rangers at 1:00 p.m. in their next game on Black Friday

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.
