The Flyers didn’t have a good weekend, nor Thursday night to be quite frank. They were so out of sync, with less than an explosive offense, until the third period against the Boston Bruins. Lackluster Goaltending on both nights, but Felix Sandström did play well against the Bruins until the third period. It sure wasn’t all his fault the orange and black lost, he received little support, but overall he played just “Okay” in the end. “Okay” is just not good enough to be top tier talented teams.

With that being said, both losses are now keeping the Washington Capitals, New York Islanders, and Pittsburgh Penguins afloat in the playoffs race, “We are just not deep enough right now,” Flyers’ Head Coach John Tortorella said last night following the loss to the Bruins.

Can the Flyers keep pushing for the playoffs? Yes, if they get back on track on Tuesday against a very tough Toronto Maple Leafs team. Right now the Flyers are in third place in the Metropolitan Division. That is good, but the orange and black have to get their acts together, especially Defensively and Goaltending wise.

The last time the Flyers were in the playoffs was during the pandemic Era, 2019-20. It’s been four years since the Flyers made the playoffs. John Tortorella wants the team to keep on plugging and pushing. He wants them to play the right way, and to look ahead, not back. Let’s see if the Flyers can keep pushing towards the playoffs with a big victory against the Maple Leafs on Tuesday.
