Philadelphia Flyers New Era

The WJC tournament continues for the third straight day, with action from some Flyers prospects again. Today,, Cutter Gauthier and Team USA will face Switzerland at 11:00 a.m. EST. Team USA is a very talented bunch, and they should contend for a medal to the very end.

Cutter Gauthier

“If it was easy everyone would do it,” that’s the motto that Flyers top prospect Cutter Gauthier lives by. A goal scorer is blossoming at Boston College, and his name is Cutter Gauthier. Gauthier is a fan favorite already and he has yet to play in one game for the Flyers, “If it was easy everyone would do it. I’ve missed out on a lot of my high school kid things due to the passion of the game, but it’s paid off,” says Gauthier.

A young Gauthier, 19, stands at 6’2 and weighs 189 pounds. Not only is this a solid build for not only a pro hockey player, but this gives the Flyers much needed size down the middle in the future. At first glance, he’s a versatile player that can play both Wing and Center. He plays mainly Center for the Boston College Eagles, but he revealed to me back in March that he will play any position that best suits what the coaches needs.

Today Gauthier, will get his chance to shine once again. He is an Alternate Captain of Team USA, overall he loves to relish. Let’s see how he fares today.

Team Canada and Oliver Bonk

Team Canada won yesterday against Latvia 10-0. Bonk registered only one assist, but he has played very well defensively. His skating is top notch and he uses an active stick to break up plays. Bonk really has been impressive at the WJC Tournament.
