On this week’s show, Steel and I talk about how the Flyers are more than just a few players away from actually contending and, therefore, should start to look outside the norm to find those diamond in the rough type players that could help this franchise turn things around sooner rather than later.

Earlier this week, I wrote about three teammates who play in a league that is often overlooked. They are all over-agers who produce at a very high level and are set to play for some of the top NCAA Division-one schools next season, where they will then indeed be found and respected by the masses. To make sure the Flyers get these young players who have chemistry playing together, they should take a chance and offer them an entry-level contract now to beat the rush before the end of next season.

In the second segment of the show, we discuss some of the most recent head-scratching moves from Flyers management and how they will impact their future. This week for some reason, management decided not to sign their best goal-scoring prospect, who had 43 lamp lighters on the year, to instead re-sign a guy like Linus Sandin, who only scored eight goals this year for the Phantoms. That makes sense, right? SMH

Lastly, we touch on how these moves, or lack thereof have the Flyers destined to remain in underachieving mediocrity. When you pair that with the organization’s lack of direction, given their drawn-out search for a new coach that should have been taken care of back in December, things don’t look promising with the draft and free agency right around the corner.

  1. The Flyers Management isnt waiting on anything. Theyre not doing anything because theyre hamstrung by all those lousy contracts; and they really DONT know what theyre doing. I can see and predict ALOT of empty seats at the Wells Fargo Center next season.

    1. And what the f—k do you know about anything..Jump off the bandwagon and stay off it..You know nothing about the goings on

      1. All you have to do is look at Fletchers track record; and what the Flyer Organization has done for the past Decade. Lousy Drafts; Poor Trades; Signing marginal players on the downslope of their careers to mega contracts; really Poor Cap Management. It isnt tough to figure out whats going on; and whats Wrong with this Organization. ALL the Flyers problems stem from their Front Office; NOT the Players or Coaches.

  2. Mediocre if not bad for yrs with no signs of changing. People wonder why they don’t have a Manager. Many they don’t have a team or system.

  3. Maybe there’s a trojan horse at play. Lose all of your fan base and try to move the team to another market. It might not be that far-fetched. Corporate greed is a very damaging concept in sports!

    1. NO WAY would Comcast be so Stupid to move the Organization to another city. Philly is one of the top markets in the country. Where would they move to?
