The Flyers’ young players absolutely stole the show in last night’s regular-season finale, a 4-2 win over the Montreal Canadiens on April 14, 2026.
Several youngsters delivered standout performances:
- Porter Martone, Oliver Bonk, Matvei Michkov, and Alex Bump (all 22 or younger) scored the team’s goals.
- Oliver Bonk notched his first NHL goal (and point) in his debut.
- Hunter McDonald also made his NHL debut and picked up an assist.
- Matvei Michkov hit the 20-goal mark for the season and added multiple points in the game.
The kids kept that energy rolling in the finale. It was a fun, promising way to wrap up the regular season, especially with several call-ups from the Phantoms stepping up and making an immediate impact.
These kind of performance from the youth movement has been a bright spot for the Flyers as they’ve pushed for a playoff berth. The future looks exciting in Philly if these young guns keep building on nights like this.
