The Flyers got swept by the Carolina Hurricanes in the second round (after pushing the Penguins to the brink in Round 1), but they showed a ton of heart in that final game despite being down 3-0 in the series.

Down to their last chance, they battled, competed hard, and earned respect from the crowd even in defeat—fans were loud and saluting the team at the end.
It was a gritty, young group that clawed back into the playoffs earlier in the season and kept fighting when things got tough. Classic Flyers playoff energy, even if the result wasn’t what we wanted. Proud of the effort.
“It’s awesome. Part of the reason I wanted to come to Philly, I know how tight the city can get (Playoffs). I’m so happy I got a chance to experience it, and I’m hungry for more,” Vladar said after game four, with this being his first season in Philadelphia.

The Flyers had lots of injuries, to include broken ribs, and players banged up, per Flyers’ Head Coach Rick Tocchet. It just became too much for the flyers to handle against Carolina, they were clearly overmatched, but that should not detract the progress that they made this season.
