Key Details:

  • Background: Liske is from Winnipeg, Manitoba (born January 9, 2008). He played for the Everett Silvertips in the WHL. He’s listed at 6’2, 190 lbs, and shoots right.
  • Fan Story: His father, Lonnie, is a die-hard Flyers supporter who “brainwashed” him into loving the team from a young age. The family has attended Flyers games in Philly, and Liske has shared stories of wearing Flyers gear, meeting players/coaches like Dave Hakstol and Shayne Gostisbehere, and having an autographed stick from Ghost. His favorite player growing up was Claude Giroux.
  • Draft Reaction: During his post-draft media availability, Liske mentioned his dad owns around 30 Flyers jerseys, has an orange Jeep with Flyers logos and a “Philly” license plate, and that their watch party had about 30 people in Flyers gear. He was wearing a Flyers jersey himself when speaking to the media. The Flyers organization was aware of his dad’s fandom.

“I’ve never heard him yell so loud. There was a big cheer, but I could distinctly hear my dad’s voice. He’s wearing his Flyers jersey very proud right now,” Liske said to the media after being drafted.

It’s a feel-good story for Flyers fans—a hometown (team) prospect living the dream. He was described as a smooth-skating, detail-oriented defenseman who rose in rankings during the 2025-26 season.
