Matvei Michkov is planning to spend at least part of the Summer training in Voorhees, NJ (home of the Flyers’ practice facility), per Flyers’ General Manager Danny Briere.

This aligns with earlier comments he made in December 2025, when he said he planned to start training there (with possibly a short trip home to Russia) rather than spending the whole offseason abroad. Flyers’ Head Coach Rick Tocchet was supportive of the idea at the time, noting it as a mature choice for a young player looking to improve.
Recent Updates
- Flyers’ GM Danny Briere confirmed that Michkov hasn’t finalized his full offseason plan but will spend some time in Voorhees working out with the team/organization.
- This was mentioned in the context of young players staying around for Summer development following the Flyers’ playoff exit.

Michkov has faced scrutiny this season (including conditioning talk and playoff scratches), and staying local gives him access to Flyers facilities, trainers, and strength programs—something the organization sees as positive for his development heading into the final year of his ELC.
