Matvei Michkov is back in Philly, and he’s ready for Training Camp. As most players do, they arrive early before camp begins, while forming ascrimmages daily.
Anthony Gargano of Phly Sports reported him coming back appropriately last night.
Early on September 1st that Michkov was seen at Philadelphia International Airport. This lines up with recent reporting that his return from Russia had shifted from early August to late August/early September after he finished training cycles at home.
Michkov spent the offseason putting in serious work in Russia (Perm, Moscow, St. Petersburg, plus time at Artemi Panarin’s camp). The Flyers even sent a coach over for an intense stretch of three-a-days focused on gym, ice, and conditioning. Training camp opens September 17, so the timing still gives him a solid runway to settle in and prepare.
Big year ahead for him after the up-and-down sophomore campaign. Welcome back to the orange and black.
