Kevin Hayes competed in the Honda NHL Accuracy Shooting competition during the All-Star Skills last night. This All-Star game means a lot him Kevin and his family. He did tell us a week ago it means a lot to him and his family:
“He (Beau) still doesn’t get it. All he cares about is me pointing up to the sky after scoring. He shoots he scored he points up to the sky. He falls asleep with his hockey pants on. He (Beau) is a hockey genius, and his favorite player is Brad Marchand unfortunately (Hayes said laughing).” – Kevin Hayes

Beau stole the show, much like Gavin Giroux did last year. He was also on the bench sporting a Flyers jersey.
“It was awesome,” Kevin Hayes said following the event. “Everyone knows, Beau’s a crazy hockey fan. This is a memory he will have for the rest of his life.” Quotes were obtained from a Flyers video
Hayes actually fared well in the shooting accuracy event. He finished in sixth with a time of 22.3 seconds to hit all four targets. Connor McDavid was 4-4 and finished in 9.4 seconds. However, Hayes did better than Vladimir Tarasenko, Aleksander Barkov, Leon Draisaitl, and Jack Hughes.
Hayes was pretty pumped for the All-Star game and all the festivities that went along with it. It was his late brother Jimmy Hayes’s wish to him Kevin play in the All-Star game, so this hits home for Hayes and his family. Expect the unexpected.
Last year, former Flyer Claude Giroux won the All-Star MVP Award unexpectedly. Could the same happen to Hayes? We shall find out.
