It seems switching from the number 49 to 86 worked out positively for Joel Farabee in the Flyers first regular season game against their arch rivals, the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Farabee came up big time for the Flyers with a goal and three assists for four total points. From his strong efforts in tonight’s game, he earned first star. He was also noted down in the Flyers history books for most points in a season-opening game by a Philadelphia Flyers player.

Joel Farabee Messed Well In Second-Line Role

Farabee worked extremely well on the second-line with Claude Giroux and Kevin Hayes. He displayed lots of offensive skills, feeding passes to teammates and creating many scoring opportunities. His goal in the second period was sneaky and very creative, as he came out of the corner with the puck and stuffed it past Tristan Jarry. While Farabee was shining offensively, he also proved he can play defensively responsible. He also seemed confident on the Flyers second power-play unit, with two of his three assists being recorded on the power-play.

The Flyers face the Penguins again on Friday night at 7:00 PM EST, where Farabee will look to continue his hot opening to the 2020-21 NHL season.
