I’m hearing the Flyers have signed forward Nolan Foote to a one-year, two-way contract (reportedly $850K NHL / $300K AHL).

This is a depth signing for the Flyers. Foote, a 25-year-old left-shot winger (6’3, 200 lbs), was a first-round pick (27th overall) by the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2019. He has bounced around organizations:Started with the Lightning system.
Traded to the New Jersey Devils.
Foote played last season (2025-26) with the Florida Panthers organization (mainly AHL Charlotte Checkers, with a brief NHL call-up where he had 1G in 12 games).

He’s a big, physical forward with some scoring touch in the AHL (career highs around 18-20 goals and solid point production in recent seasons), but he hasn’t stuck full-time in the NHL yet. He’ll likely start with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms (Flyers’ AHL affiliate) and provide organizational depth, with a chance to compete for NHL call-ups.
This fits the Flyers’ pattern of adding affordable, experienced depth players on short-term deals during free agency.

Jett Luchanko
Brent Flahr on Jett Luchanko:
“He had a procedure done on his core. It’s been lingering, frustrating time for him, but he should be back skating within a week.”
Flahr still has a lot of faith in Jett, as he provides speed. More than likely, Jett will play with the Phantoms to start the season.
