The Flyers recalled defenseman Hunter McDonald from the Lehigh Valley Phantoms on October 18, 2026.
This move was part of a series of roster transactions announced by the team:
- Defenseman Cam York was placed on injured reserve (upper-body injury), retroactive to October 8.
- Defenseman Helge Grans and forward Jack Studnicka were loaned to Lehigh Valley. @NHLFlyers
McDonald, a 6’4 left-shot defenseman and the Flyers’ 2022 sixth-round pick (165th overall), had 1 goal and 2 assists (3 points) in 6 games with the Phantoms this season. He made his NHL debut with the Flyers in the 2025-26 regular-season finale and signed a two-year contract (two-way/one-way, $912,500 AAV) in August 2026.
@NHLAdamKThe Flyers have dealt with multiple injuries early in the 2026-27 season, and this recall adds defensive depth.
