The Phantoms made a great veteran pickup for their roster. They locked up  two time Calder Cup champion Chris Mueller. He has a whopping 772 career AHL games played under his belt. Mueller will not only brings a winning experience, but also some nice added skill to a already highly skilled roster. Last year between the Crunch and Gulls he had a nice output of 19 goals and 19 assists. Mueller had attended Phantoms camp on an PTO (Professional Tryout), and now he has officially been signed by the club.

Mueller did have one assist in game one. Which happened to be a key assist to Wyatte Wylie for the big game tying tally, a game in which the Phantoms eventually won in overtime 2-1. Mueller is a former 50 point season performer, and he possesses a winning mantra. In addition, he has 241 career goals and 324 assists showing his great playmaking ability at the AHL level. Mueller has 52 career NHL games as well, so if he is needed for a few games he definitely can fill the role.

Congratulations to Mueller on impressing on his tryout to ink a full year deal with the club. He earned it and gives the Phantoms just that much more of a chance of competing for a Calder Cup this year. Lets Go Phantoms, keep the winning ways going tonight against those pesky Devils. Rival matchup; let’s show them who is boss tonight.
