3 Takeaways:

Brian Elliott gets the call today against the Sabres and the Flyers look to get a win and keep the winning going. How well did they do? Let’s get into it…

  1. The Ghost-Bear adds another goal today. The Flyers defenseman has been improving every game. He is now producing offense on a consistent basis. Shayne Gostisbehere adds another goal, and now has two in, just as many games.  He’s finally starting to produce quality minutes and add to the scoring totals. It’s a great thing to see “hot” Shayne “The Ghost” Gostisbehere.
  2. What was nice, is that Brian Elliott stood tall, with another great performance for the veteran goaltender. Elliott has gotten his 5th win of the season and has a record of 5-1 as of this date. Adding another shutout on the season and saving 23 of 23 shots on net. When called upon, he has been ready and impressive performance without much preparation. Resigning Brian Elliott was a nice addition for the growth of Carter Hart and the stability of the goaltending position. Overall, it’s been a very t consistent start to the 2020-21 season.
  3. Shooting the Puck Well is one thing the Flyers have struggled with of late. And getting shots on net is practically they key to victory. The Flyers have not been getting enough shots on net of late, but since the return of several key players from COVID, the Flyers have been getting shots on net a much higher clip. Whatever was changed in the locker room, it’s worked. The Flyers scored 3 goals on 39 shots in 60 minutes of play on this day and that’s something we have not seen of late.. Keep shooting the puck, and good things will happen. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it
