You can hear the call now on Thunder radio, “Arthur Aloyan carries the puck up the ice, what a move at the blue line as he slips a pass to the cutting Alex Soucy, and he scoresssssssssss. Oh my!!!! He undressed Carolina Thunderbirds goaltender Mario Cavaliere for a beautiful dipsy dunkaroo goal.”

The Delaware Thunder have many unknowns this year at the Thunderdome in Harrington, DE. One of the biggest unknowns is who will put the puck in the net? Who will be the starting goaltender? The Thunder have had a lot of departures from last season to include a prolific goal scorer in Ryan Marker, Trevor Babin, and Charlie Bedard. This is practically a brand new roster with the exceptions of returnees such as Alex Basey and JC Moritz. Alex Soucy and Arthur Aloyan appear to be in a class of their own. Aloyan leads the Thunder with three goals and one assist in two games played, while a rookie in Soucy has netted one goal and one assist in two games played.

For the Thunder’s strong efforts, the locals have gravitated towards this club year in and year out. Without them this team would not be here today. Lou Santini is now the General Manager and Head Coach.

Thunder fans are unique, they are loud and proud as they wear Viking hats, while others are waving cowbells. Well guess what folks they are back with authority this season:

Brighter days remain ahead as the Thunder embark on a new 2022-23 season. They are back folks, the Thunder are back, the one thing the Thunder need to do is limit shots. Once again Thunder that monitors have been pelted with over 100 shots in two games played. Trevor Martin alone has faced 100 shots against. Last year Babin faced 50 to 55 shots per game. This is just not a recipe for a winning success.

What will transpire this upcoming season is anyone’s guess, but this team is ready to hit the ice on their home turf. They are ready to get in front of their proud Thunder fans, they are ready to fight if they have to, they are ready to show the FPHL that this team is a contender. Let’s ring those cowbells now, Thunder fans. Letttt’s goooooo.
