Flyers’ forward Garrett Wilson has cleared waivers and is expected to be assigned to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms.
The Flyers placed the 35-year-old veteran on waivers on Thursday (Oct. 22) to free up a spot on the 23-man roster. He went unclaimed, so he can now be reassigned under his two-way contract. Reports indicate the move may be timed with defenseman Rasmus Ristolainen returning from injured reserve.
Wilson, a longtime Phantoms captain and physical AHL veteran (over 750 career AHL games), appeared in limited action with the Flyers this season amid a youth push that has seen younger forwards take more roster priority.
