What a week it was for the Flyers. After losing the last game on their road trip Tuesday night, they followed that up with a victory against a juggernaut in the Washington Capitals this past Wednesday night. In addition, the Flyers hung with the Tampa Bay Lightning last night in a good hard fought battle. Without further delay, here are Ricky Brown’s (@rickybrown) videos from this past week, and also from the Flyers themselves.

Oskar Lindblom saw the team following Friday’s practice, to which Alain Vigneault called Lindblom ‘Sunshine‘ like in the movie Remember The Titans. Moreover, Vigneault said that seeing Oskar “Was the best part of his day.” Lindblom also attended the game last night, to which the Flyers fans gave him a thunderous standing ovation, Vigneault was also seen clapping in the clip. #OskarStrong

Matt Niskanen with a rare mistake. The turnover that led to the only goal of the game against Tampa.

Hayes’s second shorty of the season with the orange and black. This was also the game winner against a juggernaut.

Every goal Travis Konecny scores is a thing of beauty.

The Flyers struggling Power Play:

An article was written over a week ago by our very own Jamey Baskow, on the struggling Flyers Power Play (PP). Unfortunately, it hasn’t gotten better this week, and as a matter of fact the PP is now 0-11 in the last four games. Moreover, the PP or power outage is now costing the Flyers games, to include at least two winnable games on this past road trip, and the Tampa Bay game last night.

How to fix this problem? There are no quick fixes, but they have to keep things simple, and stop over passing to open a lane. The defencemen should be the quarter back of the unit, allow Ivan Provorov to take the puck up the ice, or at the very least Claude Giroux. Zone entries have been a huge issue with the man advantage.

Secondly, move Giroux permanently on the left side near the wall. That is where he has made a living on torching his opponents this past decade with the man advantage (277 PP points since September 2010). Giroux should not fluctuate from the right side to the left, just keep him on the left side.

Lastly, Jakub Voracek was frustrated after last night’s loss for being the net front presence on the PP, according to the great Charlie O’ Connor. The Flyers have not replaced Wayne Simmonds on the PP. JVR just hasn’t been good this season with the man advantage. Simply put, JVR needs to be better on the PP. He has made a living with being successful on the PP throughout the course of his career. The Flyers need him now more than ever to start producing with the man advantage (Currently just 2 goals, and 1 assist on the season). Voracek shouldn’t be the net front presence, he’s too gifted of a playmaker to play that role.

Hopefully, the Flyers right the ship this coming week, and the action begins tomorrow night against the Boston Bruins.

Flyers Notes:

The Flyers have recalled Connor Bunnaman from the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, and have sent back David Kase in return.
