Finally, finally, finally flowers hockey is almost back. In exactly one week when training camp opens on January 3rd it will be nothing but Flyers hockey from here on out. Without further delay, here are our answers to your questions.

Mark Friedman will make the roster out of camp, whether that’s the 23 man roster or the Taxi Squad roster. Either way Friedman will make the team. He plays a mistake free game, but he can also be offensive which will come in time as he gets more playing time. The Flyers are very high on Friedman, and he will get a shot eventually especially in a shortened season.

One surprise for the roster will be Nolan Patrick himself. I’m expecting him to get cleared at camp, and he shall return as a 3C. Oskar Lindblom also regained muscle mass, per Flyers’ General Manager Chuck Fletcher, so I expect him in the top six at some point.

I expect the lines to look like this:

G, Coots, Voracek

Lindblom, Hayes, TK

JvR, Patrick, Farabee

Raffl, Laughton, NAK

There will be internal competition at camp with trying to make the Taxi Squad roster, but other than that there shouldn’t be any surprises for the 23-man roster. Flyers Head Coach Alain Vigneault said about a week and a half ago that there wouldn’t be enough time to give an extended look to some prospects due to the season being shortened. Unfortunately, there are also no exhibition games which would give an additional look for some prospects, as well.

The Taxi Squad roster might look like this:

Frost, Friedman, Zamula, Laczynski, Allison/Sandin, Lyon
