Flyers Rookie Camp is a joyful time for the players that are selected to attend, and for the fans that make the trek out to the Flyers Skate Zone in Voorhees, NJ, where the Flyers practice throughout the course of the season.

Due to COVID-19 Flyers Rookie Camp was cancelled last season. The Flyers were going to have Rookie Camp intertwined with Training Camp somehow, and I must note no NCAA players will be present.

Fortunately, the Flyers have officially released the roster for this year’s Rookie Camp that will run from September 16th through September 19th, and will feature two prospect games against the New York Rangers prospects this Saturday and Sunday. Prospect game on Saturday will be held at the Rangers practice facility in Tarrytown, New York at 3:00 p.m., and the prospect game on Sunday will be held in Voorhees at the Flyers practice facility at 5:00 p.m.

A couple of things to note. Zayde Wisdom is on the official roster, which is good news considering he just had shoulder surgery, but he will not participate in on-ice sessions as he is out until December, per Brent Flahr. In addition, Maksim Sushko has been ruled out for rookie camp, and Elliot Desnoyers will only do drills at rookie camp. Fortunately, Tanner Laczynski should be cleared by September 17th, and Wade Allison is healthy which is a good thing (All of this information is per Flyers Assistant General Manager Brent Flahr). As seen above with the roster for rookie camp, Egor Zamula, Morgan Frost, Tanner Laczynski, Cam York, Tyson Foerster, and Wade Allison headline this year’s rookie camp.

One last note, the Flyers have five camp invitees to Rookie Camp, but they do not know if they’ve been invited to main camp yet, which starts next Thursday on September 23rd: Nolan Ritchie, Quinn Schmiemann, Jon Randall-Avon, Ethan Burroughs, and Jackson van de Leest.

The Flyers have ruled out fans for this event, but fans will be able to attend training camp which opens on September 23rd.
