The WJC Tournament is a fun-filled tournament, filled with lots of good prospects. Prospects that have been drafted, and some prospects that are on the cusp of being drafted next June. Let’s see how some Flyers prospects fared yesterday
Oliver Bonk
Bonk has been steady and consistent the entire tournament, and that filtered into yesterday, as well. Even though, Canada lost 2-0 to Sweden, that does not mean that Bonk had a bad game, rather he was very strong once again while making plays with his stick. His gap control has also been exquisite.
He’s a fun prospect to watch, and he is a bloomer for the Flyers. Bonk skates well for his size, and leaves it all on the ice.
Cutter Gauthier
Gauthier did not register a point yesterday in the 4-3 victory over Czechia, but he was rather a bit inconsistent. He skated very inconsistently yesterday, unlike the previous few games for Team USA. At times it looked like there was a little effort, whereas, other times he was given full effort.
I would think playing a ton of games here in a short span caught up to him yesterday. I’m not making excuses, rather he is a human being, they are going to get tired at times. This is how he’s developing his game, and it doesn’t mean he doesn’t give full effort. He does, he’s just not a robot. Gauthier managed to play 22:13 yesterday, while registering 0 points and he was a minus 1.
Gauthier is not a one-dimensional player, rather he sees the ice very well. He creates offense out of nothing, and makes the right passes at the right times. Gauthier is having a strong WJC Tournament, and one game doesn’t change that. He has five assists in three games played for Team USA.

Alex ÄŚiernik
ÄŚiernik continues to impress with his skating. His edge work is top-notch, and that’s why I have him in my top 10 out of Flyers prospects in the system. ÄŚiernik can fly, especially when he hits the neutral zone with speed.
He had another strong game yesterday for Slovakia as they defeated Norway 8-4. ÄŚiernik registered one assist, but he just continues to excel at both ends of the ice. The points will continue to flow for him, it’s only a matter of time.
All Flyers prospects have off today at the WJC Tournament.
