Flyers Red-Hot prospect Elliot Desnoyers had a hell of a weekend. This young man tallied five goals, to pair with two apples in two games played. He has tallied seven points since I interviewed him last Tuesday, maybe just maybe I should interview him weekly. For his efforts, Desnoyers has the second most goals (11) in the QMJHL (‘Q’), and is also third in points with 20 in the QMJHL.

Desnoyers told me last Tuesday in an interview that Claude Giroux was his All-Time favorite Flyer. Last night he channeled his inner self, and looked like Giroux on this goal:

How crazy was that? Desnoyers made a great poke check along the boards, turned on the jets in open ice, and tallied a beautiful goal. Some may be thinking how did he fall to the 5th round? One reason he fell to the 5th round was he really didn’t get a chance to showcase his skills, while playing behind some great players for the Moncton Wildcats. The move to the Halifax Mooseheads was a good one for his development, and the world is seeing the results. Desnoyers has matched his goal total from last year (11) in just 12 games played. It took Desnoyers 61 games to tally 11 goals last season.

The sky is the limit for Desnoyers. He is really turning some heads at the moment. If he continues to torch the league like he has, maybe just maybe the Flyers sign him to an ELC at the end of the season. Whatever the case maybe for this young 18-year-old Winger/Center (Currently playing Center on Halifax’s top line) Desnoyers’s confidence appears to be at an all-time high.
