Oskar Lindblom has had his fair share of ups and downs this season, more ups than downs as he beat Cancer. Lindblom has looked a little more like his self with board battling, and battling for pucks in general, “It’s everything,” Lindblom said following practice on Saturday, “I can’t really say something specific. I feel like I still need to be stronger, and to be strong on the puck and do my thing out there, get in front of the net and do the small stuff that I need to do to be on top of my game.”

Lindblom may not be putting up points, but this should have been expected with all the trials and tribulations he dealt with last year, “Every game I’m feeling better and stronger,” Lindblom said, “I feel like I need to play more confident and do my thing out there.  Like you said, it’s a work in progress and I try to get better every game. You always want to put points up there, but as long as I do my job and help the team win, I’m happy for the moment.”

Of course, he could get bigger and stronger. However, his skating has improved from the beginning of the season, while his heart has remained the same. He just wants to win, and be able to help his teammates win the game at hand, “It’s a work in progress, it’s going to be a short season, but still we need to be calm and do our thing,” Lindblom said, “We’re together as a group, and we will be fine.”

The 24-year-old Cancer survivor in Lindblom was happy to have Sean Couturier back on Saturday at practice, and his presence was felt up and down the lineup on Sunday, “He’s a big part of our team,” Lindblom said, “You’re more confident when you have him out there on the ice. He’s always going to help you to push forward. Even if it’s a defensive play or offensive play, he’s going to be a top guy on our team. He’s huge for our team and I can’t say any bad things about him out there.”

Let’s be patient with Lindblom as he currently has two goals and two assists on the season thus far. He has earned our patience in more ways than one. Lindblom will get back to the player he once was, he just needs our support in doing such.
