The Flyers Community Caravan pulled into Cape May NJ on Tuesday afternoon to deliver a dose of hockey related fun to help fans get through the dog days of Summer. The Flyers recent return to The Stanley Cup Playoffs has made this the shortest off-season in quite some time. But at this point it sure doesn’t feel like it.

For Flyers Fans it already feels like ions since the team faced Carolina in the second round. The unexpected playoff run may have shortened the off-season but it has also increased the anticipation to see what’s coming next. With Rookie Camp still more than a month away Flyers Fans were very excited to see the Caravan pull into town.
“Mr. Hollywood” Everett Jackson was on hand spinning tunes and hosting the event as he does at the arena for Flyers home games. The Flyers ice team, cheerleaders, and of course Gritty were there to mingle and take photos with the fans outside Congress Hall in beautiful Cape May. The weather could not have been any better and everyone was in great spirits.

There were plenty of games and activities to keep the kids entertained. Everything from corn-hole, to hockey sharp-shooting. There were giveaways and Flyers swag all around. The Warriors hockey team was represented. There was a whole lot of fun packed into two hours, time flew.
Flyers Alumni Chris Therien, Brian Propp, Doug Crossman, and Riley Cote were there to meet fans and sign autographs. Always great to see these guys and they really do enjoy talking hockey with the Flyers faithful.

The Caravan will be making stops in Mays Landing NJ on Wednesday August 5th, Ocean City NJ Thursday August 6th, and Exton PA on Wednesday August 19th. These events are a lot of fun, if you get the chance you should swing by. It’s free and open to the public.
Hope your Summer is going well, …can’t wait for September.
