Denver Barkey a Center!!! Matvei Michkov was darn fast today and spoke English in his presser, that and much more on Day 1 of Flyers Training Camp

Flyers training camp officially opened today!!!

On-ice sessions started this morning at the Flyers Training Center in Voorhees, NJ. The team has 57 players in camp (33 forwards, 18 defensemen, 6 goaltenders), split into Groups A, B, and C.Today’s schedule (Sept. 17). The Flyers added 11 more players to the roster today:

Practices are open to the public. The Pre-season starts Monday, Sept. 21 against Washington in Hershey, and the regular-season opener is set for Wednesday, Sept. 30 vs. the Penguins.

Matvei Michkov was flying today. Noticeable swagger for sure

Good to hear, as our very own Rob Windfelder was present at camp today. Denver Barkey also Centered Zach Auston-Reese and Matvei Michkov today, but he did play on the Wing at times too. When he played Center he made sharp plays with the puck, wizzing the puck up ice to his Wingers.

It was great to see Oliver Bonk getting a real shot, as he was paired with Travis Sanheim to open camp.

Matvei Michkov speaks English

Michkov did his entire media availability in English. He finally did one on his own, in English. Michkov did admit it’s tough, but he did call Philadelphia his second home.

He also says he likes chocolate, but only day off. Michkov was very energetic speaking English, but he did well.
