All good things must come to an end, and for Morgan Frost this will be the last time he is sent back to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. That’s how much skill and determination this young man has for the sport of hockey. Unfortunately, Frost just needs a bit more time to fine tune his game to handle the rigors of an 82 game season, and become more consistent at the NHL level.
What an NHL debut it was for the young man in Frost, as well. He left people “Frost” bitten in South Florida. Morgan, didn’t disappoint his family in attendance, nor the proud orange clad fans that made the trek to South Florida. Frost put on a show for the ages, as he potted a beautiful goal past former Vezina Trophy netminder Sergei Bobrovsky. He razzled and dazzled, then went, “Top shelf where momma hides the cookies.” Frost has so much skill, and is so good with puck possession. After watching last night’s rematch game against the Florida Panthers. Frost was taken off the puck a few times, and looked out of sorts at times. That was when I knew the writing was on the wall for him to be sent down. Something I’ve personally never witnessed was an opponent move Frost off the puck. He’s so good with puck possession, however, the NHL is a different league than the AHL or Juniors.
Frost has some things to work on at the AHL level, before he becomes a permanent fixture with the orange and black. For instance, pushing the play, and being physical enough to handle the rigors of an 82 game season in the NHL. Frost worked hard in the summer, weight wise, for physicality purposes. The truth of the matter is, the more Frost produces, the more it becomes apparent for a call-up. Unfortunately, Frost has to work on consistency, and maintsining the pace of game with the big boys. This is not a bad thing for Frost to be sent down, he could find himself back with the big club sooner rather than later if he produces, and becomes consistent.
The young man in Frost appears to be a natural, and a player that knows how to score goals. He looked very good in his NHL debut, especially with the way he carried the puck up the ice. Whatever the case maybe, Frost maybe what the doctor ordered, offensive wise, for this young Flyers team in the future.

Our championship-window is up when Morgan Frost or Nolan Patrick can take second-line center role without any problems! Because then we have a deep enough team to play Kevin Hayes in firth-line center role, in which he is more suited for anyway! So we have great top-four in defense, check mark, and the other thing is center depth, in which case it is up to Frost or Patrick developing, and take the second line center spot with success! And that would be the second check mark we need, to open our championship-window long term!
