Covid-19 continues to be a problem for the NHL. It has impacted the Flyers twice with Shayne Gostisbehere (Tested Positive), and Travis Sanheim recently hitting the shelf under Covid protocols. Now the Flyers will be impacted with postponments, as the Devils have postponed more games ahead of the Flyers playing them Thursday (February 9), and Saturday (February 11). The Devils currently have 19, yes 19 (This is not a typo) players on the Covid protocol list according to the NHL’s media website.

The Flyers were slated to play the Devils this week twice, and now the games have been postponed. What does this mean? Well, both teams will make up these games, and the Flyers may be able to play another opponent instead since the Buffalo Sabres are affected with mandatory postponements, as well. The Sabres were slated to play the Washington Capitals this week twice, so maybe the Flyers could play two more games against the Caps this week instead.

Either way at the end of the day it’s important to keep everybody safe. This virus is nasty, and we continue to pray for all those affected. Unfortunately, this is the world we live in right now, but we have to do everything in our power to ensure the safety of all NHL staff, and players.
